About Arkwright scholarship
Arkwright Engineering Scholarships is a program within The Smallpeice Trust (a registered charitable organization). They are one of the most highly regarded scholarship schemes of their type in the UK.
Arkwright Engineering Scholarships was established in 1991 by a group of dedicated Headteachers who felt that Design & Technology wasn’t being given the attention they deserved to be a fertile ground for future engineers and technical designers.
A Scholarship Scheme was established to encourage and motivate high-ability 15/16 year-olds to pursue Engineering and Technical Design as a career through the study of Design and Technology.
Our Arkwright Engineering Scholarships program identifies, inspires, and nurtures future leaders in Engineering, Computing, and technical (rather than aesthetic) Design. Through a rigorous selection process, we award Arkwright Engineering scholarships to students of high quality who are in Year 11 (England & Wales), Year 4 (Scotland), and Year 12 (Northern Ireland).
The Arkwright Engineering Scholarships help students with their A Levels or Scottish Highers. They encourage students to study Engineering, Computing, or technical Design at university.
Each Arkwright Engineering Scholarship is sponsored and funded by an industry company, university or charitable trust, trade association (professional institution), armed service, worshipful organization, industry regulator, personal donor, or private donor.
